Contrôles antidopage

Anti-doping controls were carried out at the Austrian Grand Prix, held on the Kärntenring on June 9 last. Among the urine samples taken, one was found not in accordance with the rules of the FIM Anti-Doping Code.
This sample comes from New Zealand rider Joshua Coppins, who competes in the 250cc class. The sample of Mr Coppins contains a concentration of 157 micrograms/ml of pseudo-ephedrine (cut-off level: 25 micrograms/ml) and a concentration of 7.4 micrograms/ml of cathine (cut-off level: 5 micrograms/ml). Both products are sanctioned by the FIM Anti-Doping Code, Art. 10.3, Prohibited Classes of Substances. Mr Coppins renounced to ask for a counter-testwith the B sample.
The case will be judged within a few days by the International Jury, who is entitled either to take a decision or refer the case to the International Disciplinary Court.
All the other samples tested showed the absence of any banned substances.
The riders controlled were : Ben Townley (NZL, 125cc), James Dobb (GBR, 125cc), Patrick Caps (BEL, 125cc); Gordon Crockard (IRL; 250cc), Mickael Pichon (FRA, 250cc).
