STATEMENT FROM JOSH COPPINS

I confirm I was contacted by the FIM following a doping test, as announced in the organisation’s media statement today.

This is a minor issue, and a very simple one. It involves a hay fever tablet.

I have nothing to hide. I am confident the matter will be cleared up when I meet with the FIM, at the earliest opportunity. It is unfortunate that publicity besmirches my name in the meantime.

I have a long and impeccable record in motocross and I would never do anything to jeopardise it, especially not anything involving banned substances. I believe this is widely recognised in the paddock among riders, teams and officials.

The FIM has made it clear this is now a legal matter and accordingly I can say no more at this time.
