The first of the Sean Clarke organised Trail Sprint Series was held on Sunday, 26 May at Litchfeild,[on the main road between Tokoroa and Putaruru.]
It is reported to have gone really well, with sometimes KIWI RIDER writer Dene Humphrey, taking the over-all win in the expert all-in class.
The weather had been bad all week and this may have put a few people off but it was fairly sheltered in the forest with just the occasional rain flurry to keep the 20 km mainly clay-based course slippery all day.
The small junior class all finished the same course as the seniors.
(I believe all got trophys for finishing.)
The next Round (14 July ) was advertised as being in Taupo but a problem with the Permit has seen this changed to the Tarawera Trail Bike Riders Club area just out of TE-TEKO on the main ROTORUA to WHAKATANE highway.
This will be a new trail, but in the same forest area as the Tarawera 100 which is on Saturday June 22.
Fire extinguisher\'s MUST be carried on every bike for both of these events.
ALSO NOTE: The Tarawera Trail Bike Rider\'s Club have Trail Rides sheduled for;
JUNE 02(THIS SUNDAY)-JULY 07-AUG 04-SEPT 01-SEPT 29.
The new track for the trail ride\'s are a 47km loop ( with short-cuts home) then after re-fueling man and bike, a second 35 km loop.
The juniors have an all new 4.5km loop and also a mini-track next to the large car-park.
Sign-on and ride any-time from 8-30am and fire extinguishers must be carried.
(NO EXTINGUISHER-NO RIDE)
These are available from sign-on for $25.
