Paul Whibley (Husqvarna 250) has won the 250 two stroke class and the event overall at the second round of the New Zealand Enduro Championship held Sunday near Pahiatua.
Conditions were extremely difficult with recent rain making the clay tracks slippery.
Second place went to Steven Bird who has moved from riding a 426 Yamaha to a 250 Yamaha four stroke this season.Chris Birch on his KX250 took 3rd place with Sean Clarke 4th, on a Suzuki DRZ400.

The results indicate that a strong field of 116 riders started the event.
But they also indicate that 60 finished!
One can only hope that the 56 DNFrs regard it as a character building exercise and front up to the next round.

Combining the results of the first two rounds means that Whibley leads his class and shares first place overall with Chris Birch.[Subject to Official Confirmation]

The next round is to be held in very different conditions at the sandy Woodhill Forest near Auckland where Whibley and Clarke are expected to be among the front-runners again.
