MX GP in Your Lounge.

Well, how did you enjoy having a round of the World MX GP in your lounge?

It is a classic case of how we are able to benefit from technology, as for us mere mortals on the opposite side of where it all happens, it is probably as close as we will ever get to `being there. ` The photography was superb although the commentary could lull you to sleep. [There is a place for Neil Ritchie over there!]

The most remarkable aspect of that world event is that we got to see two Kiwis flying the flag. We could all be proud of Josh`s gutsy ride with pain killing injections to finish 5th in the 250 event. A good `there or there abouts` result in a competition where consistency can be the key to a good result.

And what about the young guy from Taupo`s sensational ride in the 125 event. That has to compare with Craig Perk`s golfing win as the most astounding result achieved by a Kiwi sportsman in recent times on the world stage. If that is so, why have not the NZ news media seen it that way?

At 17, Ben Townley has already achieved more than most will in their lifetime. Is this another Chad Reed? [Who has just signed a two-year deal with the factory Yamaha team.] Ben had the guts to move out of his comfort zone in Taupo and chase his dream, he could have very easily fallen flat on his face, but he hasn`t as he is well and truly `noticed` now. He must surely have already opened doors for other Kiwis also [as have those who have gone before, like the King Bros etc.] but hang on, don`t start packing unless you have the talent.

If you missed it Sky have a repeat scheduled for 4pm on Saturday. So if you haven`t got Sky, drop around to see your mate who has. If you haven`t got any mates, ring your Sky installer now. If you can`t get Sky in your area get someone to tape it for you. [Disclaimer-I have no links with Sky TV]
