Suzuki and Kawasaki are close to merging their motorcycle production. These moves are prompted by a steady downturn in the domestic market which is now less than 1/3rd of the market peak 20 years ago! They lag behind Honda and Yamaha who together hold 82% of the domestic market. Suzuki would spin off the motorcycle production from it`s car division and Kawasaki would spin their motor cycle production away from the it`s other vast manufacturing divisions. There are plans to unveil a new motor cycle within 3 years and it won`t be called either a Kawasaki or a Suzuki. It will be another brand name
