Husqvarna’s Current World Enduro Champion, Stefan Merriman has been injured in training and will spend the following two months off the bike. Merriman was training at a sand quarry near Pavia, when he crashed and injured his right shoulder. After X-rays and further inspection the following day, it was revealed the ligaments attaching the clavicle were torn. On Friday, 7th December he had an operation to have a screw inserted into his shoulder and the ligaments reattached. He is now recovering at home and must spend 2 months off the bike. He will recommence training in February and should be fit to compete in the first race on his calendar, the Italian Championships in Grottaglie, Taranto ITALY on the 2nd –3rd March in 2002.
