A BETTER DAY FOR REES AT AUSSIE CHAMPS

Sunday July 1st, saw the 2001 Australian Superbike Championship at Queensland Raceway for round three.

New Zealand Superbike Champion, Kawerau’s Tony Rees was out to have a more successful day, than he had at round two.

Rees on his Bikebiz Yamaha R1 took two thirds and a fourth to consolidate his fourth overall in the championship.

In race one and two, Rees ran with the leaders, Suzuki’s Shaun Giles and Radar’s Team Yamaha’s Craig Coxhell, for the greater part of the race and ended up battling, Bikebiz teammate Damien Cudlin for third. Rees came out the victor in one and Cudlin the other.

In race three, Rees again came home third behind Giles and Coxhell, after a close race with Radar’s Team Yamaha’s Jamie Stauffer.

“ I feel good about today, we have got things back on track,” said Rees from Queensland.

2) Craig Coxhell, Yamaha R1 1000 , 135 points
3) Damian Cudlin, Yamaha R1 1000 , 127 points
4) Tony Rees , Yamaha R1 1000, 100 points
