Kiwi-cross kid Ben Townley has reinforced his form in Europe by qualifying for this weekend\'s Australian Motocross Grand Prix.

Riding his Phase Suzuki in the 125 class, the 16-year-old expat from Taupo has again emulated the feat of his hero Josh Coppins in the premier 250 class.

\"Another really tough ride,\" Townley commented after battling into the top bracket in today\'s sunshine at Broadford north of Melbourne.

\"This track is probably a bit tougher than the ones I\'ve seen in Europe, so I\'m happy to be in tomorrow\'s GP.\"

The talented youngster went through to the main in his first chance ride, not needing to fall back on a final-chance repercharge.

At the start of this year his German-based team made it clear the youngster should aim to qualify for some grands prix; he surprised everyone by making it easily in his first ride and has now made it three from three.
