Honda Red Riders dominate third round of North Island Cross-Country

Honda Red Riders Paul Whibley (CR250) and Peter Broxholme (CR125) continued their dominance in cross-country events with a one-two finish at Turangi over the weekend of 7-8 April.

The event was held on a course which had cut up very badly, exposing very stony terrain and causing a number of riders to crash. Both Whibley and Broxholme suffered their share of misfortunes in the rugged and demanding conditions, but were able to complete the course well clear of third-placed Suzuki rider Adam Youren.

Race team manager Dave Borlase said: ‘Paul’s first place once again shows his incredible ability to deal with adverse conditions. I am especially happy, however, with Peter’s performance, given that he was riding a CR125 and finished a full minute ahead of Youren’s RM250.’
