Newly-crowned national 125cc champion Jason Easton has signed with Blue Wing Honda to ride in the Suzuki Winter Series on a CBR900 Fireblade. Easton is the first rider to be signed to the new road race team as a result of the complete review of Blue Wing Honda’s off-road and road racing strategy.
In line with the strategy of finding and supporting new young riders, Blue Wing Honda sees Jason as being a rider who not only deserves the opportunity to step up, but who over time will demonstrate the faith Blue Wing Honda have in this concept.
Blue Wing Honda race team manager Dave Borlase said: ‘We’re very happy to have Jason join our new road race team and we’re very confident that he has the skills to produce results. Whilst this is a departure from the normal rider selection criteria, we are confident that Jason will quickly come to grips with the CBR900 during the winter series. With the release of the new Fireblade later this year, and also the CBR600FS, we will be exploring other opportunities to broaden and strengthen the team for a fully committed race program next season.’
