VTR1000 grabs top spot

Honda’s VTR1000 Firestorm was the top selling big road bike in New Zealand for the year 2000. Its 90 registrations easily eclipsed the 57 achieved by the second-placed Suzuki GSX1200 Bandit.

Blue Wing Honda General Manager Clive Cooper-Smith said: ‘This result is a reflection of the commitment that Honda has to building motorcycles which are both technically advanced and have great character and rider appeal. Whilst the Suzuki sits in the marketplace at a lower price than the Honda does, serious motorcyclists can clearly justify paying a little more for the quality, rideability and resale value of the Honda.’

Since introduction of the VTR1000 in 1997 it has been a consistent top seller, and with a new model about to be launched Blue Wing Honda are looking forward to the continuing success of this legendary motorcycle in the marketplace.
