April 1 is the day, Manfeild Autocourse is the place and the star-studded entries are the performers. When round three of the Motorcycle Trader & News Championship kicks off on Sunday, you can expect some of the best motorcycle racing available in the world today.

The Superbike class will see the battle resume between Kawerau’s Tony Rees, Christchurch’s Andrew Stroud, New Plymouth’s Shaun Harris, not forgetting the current Superbike Champion Dean Fulton from Mount Maunganui.

Formula Two will see the battle of the Suzukis between Palmerston North’s Dennis Charlett, Harris and Timaru’s Brendon Gare.
The challenge, which briefly appeared in the form of Hayden Bool on his Yamaha TZ 250cc Grand Prix bike seems to have disappeared with no entry having been received at close of entries.

Open Sports Production, will see Rees on his Yamaha, Stroud, and Wanganui’s Brain Bernard on their Suzukis, along with Waiuku’s Dave Cole on his Ducati, making the class a multi brand battle.
The class will also see the return of Timaru’s John Hepburn and Oamaru’s Brad Selfe, but not on the Castrol Hondas, they started the season on, both riders will be racing Suzuki GSXR 750cc for this round.

In the 600cc Sports Production Class, New Plymouth’s Harris has a clear lead of 26 points over Mt Maunganui’s Corey Oxenham on a similar machine but the class will still produce some of the most exciting racing.

Formula Three sees the battle between the 400cc four stroke Kawasaki of Oamaru’s Andy Bolwell and the 125cc Honda grand prix machine of Foxton’s Jason Easton. Easton also holds a 20 points lead in the 125cc class.

Colin Buckley (Auckland) paired with Darren Abrahams (Gisborne) leads the sidecar championship by 10 points over current champions Aaron Lovell and Philip Duthrie from Rotorua. With an entry of eleven machines, the racing in this class will be something not to be missed.

With the names mentioned above, along with a field numbering over 120, Sunday will see some fantastic racing and Manfeild Autocourse is the place to SEE IT.
