Honda Continues to Dominate Farm ATV Market

Honda continues to sell more farm ATVs in New Zealand than all other makers combined. With a 55% share of farm ATV sales in 2000, Honda’s domination of the segment has been unbroken since the late 1970s.

The flagship of the Honda ATV range, the new TRX350 FM, was the country’s top selling ATV in its debut year, crowning yet another year at the top for Honda’s popular workhorses.

‘We pride ourselves on satisfying the demanding requirements of modern farmers with machines which combine the latest technology with tough construction and long-term durability,’ said Clive Cooper-Smith, General Manager of importers Blue Wing Honda Ltd. ‘The results are in our sales figures, which conclusively demonstrate the preference of buyers who are serious about product quality, strong resale value and the ability to buy through New Zealand\'s only dedicated dealer network.’

‘The ATV market is by far the largest segment within the total motorcycle market in New Zealand and our strength in this segment, and more particularly the farm ATV, is the backbone of our business and that of our dedicated dealer network,’ said Mr. Cooper-Smith. ‘The Honda brand stands for high-quality, long-life products, and that is our positioning in every market segment we enter.’

‘We now look forward to the all-new TRX500 Rubicon taking our traditional position in the farm ATV market to the next level.’
