Kawerau’s Tony Rees heads to Pukekohe this weekend with his sights firmly set on two Tourist Trophies.
Rees will be riding a pair of Yamaha R1s, one in Open Sports Production trim and the other in Superbike. Rees is the current holder of the Open Sports Production Tourist Trophy, and last year was also runner-up in the 600cc Sports Production TT race.
Rees feels confident that his recent form against the Australians, at the LK Drivesafe 500 and the Oceania Championship meetings, will put him in good stead to take on his fellow New Zealanders.
“With the new format and the fact we are not riding for points should make the weekend extremely interesting” Rees said this week.
