Tri-Nations Supercross

Posted: Sat 02 Dec 2000

Three teams, three riders, three country\'s - tonight\'s Tri-Nations Supercross Challenge will see the first ever Tri Nations Indoor Supercross Challenge at the Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton.

The New Zealand Team of Shayne and Damien King with Darryl Hurley will face up to a three man US team yet to be named. Legend Darryll King will not make this weekends event due to injury. At last night\'s \"Meet and Greet\" evening at Hamilton\'s Boots n\' All hotel King made a point of letting the crowd know that the accident following the last race a week ago was \"now behind us\" and he was looking forward to the Tri-Nations. King has had a spectacular return to the New Zealand scene and despite injury is expected to be at the track to support the Kiwi Team.

Yesterday saw the Australian team in an intensive practise session on the new track. Shayne and Brett Metcalfe looked on good form and relished the extra width in the new track design. Paul Broomfield, fresh up from the Supercross Masters meeting in Sydney had a ton of confidence and barely broke a sweat.

With the three teams now in place the International Tri-Nations Challenge is set to go off. Wild card team the South Africans will also ride the event although outside this years Tri-Nations. The Hamilton City sponsored International Indoor Supercross event finishes tomorrow night with the penultimate \"King Of the Creek\" title event . No teams, No nations, No Fear.
