The Last GP500 race of the season at Philip island was a thriller with the lead changing over and over.
McWilliams the first Brit is 13 years to take pole in a GP500 race made a shocker of a start as did Roberts and at the end of the first lap Roberts was 12th and McWilliams 15th.
The lead was swapped through Barros, Capirossi, and Biaggi There were constant challenges from Rossi, McCoy, and others, At times there were 12 riders within two seconds of the lead rider.
In the end though it was Biaggi 1st, Capirossi 2nd, and Rossi 3rd, making the podium totally Italian. Barros was 4th.
