Australian brothers Shane and Brett Metcalfe have signed for the International Supercross at Mystery Creek in November. While there\'s no love lost on the track, the two brothers are both keen to make their mark at the international indoor event.

With 6 Australian titles already in his pocket, Brett competed at the Mystery Creek Supercross event last year. A bout of flu kept him out of the action on the first night but he came roaring back to mix it up on the following nights finishing 4th in the Trans Tasman test. Big brother Shane was in town last weekend to ride the Labour Weekend Motorcross Extravaganza in Taupo. Known as M1 and M2, the Metcalfe brothers will be supported at the Mystery Creek Supercross by Paul \"Broomy\" Broomfield and last years \" Expression Session\" winner Beau Hoadley. Broomfield was the number 2 Aussie 125 MX champion last year and moved from Western Australia to Sydney in 1998 to extend his coaching commitments. Hoadley will be travelling with his father who has been contracted by the organisers to construct this years indoor track.

Mystery Creek Operations Manager Kevin Lyndsay has been on the job making sure the track preparations are on schedule.

\"The 2000 cubic metres of track clay has been lifted from its storage site and has been sitting under cover. Every couple of weeks we send samples off to the lab for testing and are really pleased with the results, we\'re getting consistent improvement, so by the time the track goes in, the track material should be perfect\" The Aussie riders will face tough competition from both the US and Kiwi teams this year. Rider liaison Sasha Patete has been organising travel and accommodation for the international riders.

\"We\'ve spent a lot of time securing riders, getting clearances from factory team management and from their international governing bodies. Some of the riders are coming from the East coast of the US so we\'ve had to build a full travel itinerary so they can all meet in LA to come out together. We\'ve had excellent support from the Hamilton Airport Motor Inn who will be hosting the riders throughout the two weeks they\'re in the country.\"

Ticketing for this years event is being managed in house and the Mystery Creek Events Centre\'s seating plan has been put on www.supercross.co.nz so the public can choose where they wish to sit.

Sales and Marketing Manager Vince Stockdale is delighted with the early response.

\"We\'ve had fans from Auckland and Wellington already ring and book their seats even though the physical tickets wont be arriving from the printer till early November, its definitely a case of first in for best seats. Anyone booking before November 10th won\'t have to pay a booking fee and wont have to worry about queuing for a seat. We\'ve added more seats this year taking the total capacity up to over 4,300.\" With the first weekend kicking off on Friday November 24, tickets are expected to be in hot demand and organisers are recommend booking early on 0800-00-44-44.
