DESCRIPTION
Started in 2018, this ride was formed as a prequel to The Dusty Butt - so that the ride to the Butt becomes an awesome adventure ride in itself! Limited to only 12 riders, you have to confirm your space very early to get a spot on this 6 day/5 night exclusive adventure from Taupo to Fairlie...to arrive the day before the Dusty Butt! The route varies each year and whatever it is it will be a fantastic, off the beaten track, journey with a great bunch of like minded riders you will never forget!
What to Expect:
Spectacular scenery! - Bring your camera......attach your helmet cam! Social adventure - This week becomes a great social journey with a small tight group of like-minded adventure riding enthusiasts. 6 riding days - and 5 nights away over some great country you may not have explored before. An off-the-beaten-track route that gives you some exciting riding with great company all the way from Taupo to Fairlie and the start of the Dusty Butt. Route Navigation - Riders must navigate the route using a GPS. These detailed GPS downloads will be made available to registraints closer to the starting date. Please become familiar with this sort of navigation prior to the event, although with a small group such as this, it is a great opportunity to learn! Fuel stops - It is important to ensure your bike can cover approximately 280km on one tank of gas, or you may need to carry additional gas in a NZ standards compliant fuel container. (A finalised fuel chart will be made available to you prior to the event). Tools - It is essential that you carry your own toolkit, and that you can carry out basic repairs and maintenance. Punctures can be common so we recommend you also carry spare tubes. Accommodation - Accommodation will be twin share for 5 nights from between $80-$120 per night. All this will be pre-booked for you. One night with dinner, bed & breakfast in a high country station is included in your entry fee. Meals - Most meals are on a pay as we go basis. Accommodation will either provide meals, or be a short walk to a pub or takeout - except when we stay on a station.

Registration Meet & Greet:
We will meet up for registration and briefing in Taupo early in the morning of Wednesday 10th February. We then head on out to start the adventure.
We plan to arrive in Fairlie at approximately 1pm on Monday 15th February, the day of the Dusty Butt registration evening. Please see information on the Dusty Butt page on this website.
